We have almost made it to Christmas! In my house the kids are off school, I've finished clinic work for the year and I spent the morning cooking, getting ahead for Christmas Day. We are at home just the 8 of us on Christmas Day and then off to see family. Whilst Christmas can be full of anticipation and excitement, for those navigating the complexities of an eating disorder, the holiday season can present unique challenges. In this newsletter, I want to extend a heartfelt message of support and hopefully provide some valuable resources to ensure a nourishing and positive experience during this festive time. This month, I've put together two Christmas blog posts to offer guidance and encouragement. The first, "Help with Caring for Someone with an Eating Disorder at Christmas," addresses the vital role loved ones play in providing support during the holiday season. It gives practical tips that I hope will be super helpful. The second post, "Tips for Managing an Eating Disorder at Christmas," is to help those on their personal ED journey. From coping strategies to mindful practices, I really hope this blog post will empower you and provide practical tips to use. I'd love you to take a read of the blog posts and recipes, and of course do feel free to share these resources with those who might find them helpful. Remember, although this time of year can come with challenges, the holiday season should be a time of celebration and self-compassion. Wishing you a warm and wonderful Christmas filled with moments of joy, love, and connection. Sending love, Priya Festive GingerbreadOne tradition we have every year is to bake gingerbread. I’ve been doing this with my kids since they were toddlers. It’s gone from 1 toddler to now 6 of them, which was ummmmm interesting chaos. Welcome to your top Nutrition News, Recipes and Tips. Example link Welcome 2024 seems to have started off with lots of misinformation and diet fads. I've started a new series on Instagram busting these fad diet myths. These fad diets are so harmful! Remember though that a dietitian is the only legally protected nutrition professional. Anyone who is selling a cure-all pill or...
The Recovery Tribe Food Freedom Fighters and Eating Disorder Recovery. Community, it's a bit of a buzz word I know but it is also so very key. As humans beings we were not designed to be on our own in the good times and in the hard times. I have spoken to so many people in the last 2 weeks who have told me how isolated they feel. How no-one really seems to understand them and they just want connection. So I want to suggest that if that is you, you start looking to create community. I know it...
