Food Freedom and Eating Disorder Recovery Tips

Hello your lovely ones,

Instead of asking how was your Christmas I'm going to say a huge well done for navigating Christmas! It can be a time of so much build up, some highs, some lows and then we swing straight into New Year and it's diet culture ways. I want to let you now that you are not alone.

This year many diets seem to be wrapped up in a parcel of "wellness" "good foods" and "it's not really restricting" when it actually is. Diet culture has a way of being so subtle but so destructive. So I wanted to share some tips on this.

It is probably a diet if:

  • You have to significantly monitor what you eat with an app, device, tracking, weighing, micro-planning.
  • If it is about reaching a cultural body ideal rather than your bodies ideal.
  • There are rigid rules around cutting out foods or adding in foods. What you can and can't eat. In actual fact we are all different and one fit rules don't work.
  • There is no room for flexibility.
  • If it leaves you hungry and feeling unsatisfied.
  • It requires you to add in expensive products such as green powders, detox products etc..

I'd love to hear your thoughts on this, hit reply and let me know.

The Eating Disorder Recovery Workbook

I've put all my most useful resources together for you!! Love you to check it out.

HELP ME!

I'm busy planning a course and community for Eating Disorder Recovery over the next few months and I really need your help.

I want to know what would help you. I'm thinking:

  • live sessions on zoom where we goal set, eat lunch, discuss a topic, do a grounding activity.
  • short educational videos on nutrition and recovery.
  • Downloadable pdfs to use each week and feed back in the community to keep you accountable.
  • A community such as a facebook group that is moderated to keep it safe to support one another.
  • Recipes
  • What have I missed?

Can you hit reply and tell me?

Why those new years diets fail

Well done for getting to the end, a long one today!

Sending Cosy hugs,

Priya xxxx

The Recovery Tribe Email Food Freedom and Eating Disorder Recovery Tips Eating Disorder recovery can be super tought and it takes time... which can mean a lot of support is needed and that can be expensive and isolating. So often people tell me that they just feel alone and like no-one understands. I hear you. Maybe you've been in social media communities and have found them to be pretty toxic places. Maybe you just don't feel you fit in or have people who understand what it is like to be...

Welcome to your top Nutrition News, Recipes and Tips. Example link Welcome 2024 seems to have started off with lots of misinformation and diet fads. I've started a new series on Instagram busting these fad diet myths. These fad diets are so harmful! It can be even harder when people who are medical doctors, have a PhD or have a biochemistry degree are pushing these. Remember though that a dietitian is the only legally protected nutrition professional. Anyone who is selling a cure-all pill or...

The Recovery Tribe Food Freedom Fighters and Eating Disorder Recovery. Community, it's a bit of a buzz word I know but it is also so very key. As humans beings we were not designed to be on our own in the good times and in the hard times. I have spoken to so many people in the last 2 weeks who have told me how isolated they feel. How no-one really seems to understand them and they just want connection. So I want to suggest that if that is you, you start looking to create community. I know it...
